Maize High School Day of Service

Maize High School Day of Service

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, all Maize High School students will set aside their classroom work to serve others in our community. This annual tradition continues to receive tremendous positive feedback from both our students and community members.

Please click the link below to access the parent permission form, where you can indicate your comfort level for your student’s participation. Many service activities will take place off campus, and we must have parent permission for students to leave school grounds. For those remaining on campus, we’ll have plenty of meaningful service opportunities—ensuring every student contributes to making our little corner of the world better.

The day will begin with a short assembly at Maize High School, where we’ll honor one of our former graduates, Lilly Koehn, who tragically passed away during her freshman year at Kansas State University. Lilly was a beacon of light who dedicated herself to serving others, and our efforts on this day continue her legacy of making a difference.

We will also welcome two guest speakers: a fellow MHS graduate and a United States military veteran, both of whom will share inspiring messages about service.

This is a required attendance day for students. If your student will be absent, please contact the attendance office. All students are required to complete at least three hours of volunteer service. The form allows you to indicate your preference for what your student should do once they have completed their service activity. Please return the completed form to your student’s FLEX teacher. Students who do not return a form will be assigned a service project on campus and will be required to stay all day at MHS.

We are excited for this special day and can’t wait to showcase our incredible students throughout the community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
