Welcome new Maize High School leaders for 2026-27!
We're excited to welcome our new leaders at Maize High School for the 2026-27 school year! Join us in congratulating these outstanding individuals as they step into their new roles.
Michelle Fuentes will be a new Maize High School Assistant Principal effective July 1. She currently serves as an 8th Grade Advanced, Core, and Reading Strategies Teacher and a Curriculum Developer and Data Leader in Goddard USD 265. Michelle brings nine years of experience in Wichita USD 259, along with 12 additional years in education across multiple roles, including serving as a GED Adult Remedial Instructor. Her experience also includes teaching positions in Montana, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Iowa. She holds degrees from Friends University and Emporia State University.
Julie Tucker will be a new Maize High School Assistant Principal effective July 1. She has been Newton High School’s assistant principal since 2024 and previously taught at the middle school and elementary school level for Wichita USD 259, where she also worked as a summer school instructor and site coordinator. She earned four degrees from Emporia State University.
